  • Unusual mosaic Damascus steel, the images are composed of different steels
  • Markus Balbach forges this mosaic Damascus by hand in an oven according to traditional methods, without the use of a press
  • The steel has a hardness of 59 HRC
  • The blades are diagonally cut out of the welding package
  • Ferrule and bolsters both made of mosaic Damascus
  • The handle is a work of art – excellent workmanship out of mammoth tusk and with engravings of a beautiful ship motif on the one side and an old Viking motif on the other side
  • The sheath is made of traditionally crafted saddle leather in a light brown hue. Solely vegetable tanning materials are used during the tanning process. The leather is retanned in drums over a period of 6 to 8 weeks.
  • In addition, the sheath is hand-decorated by a stamping method and the visually appealing inlay is of sharkskin leather.
